YAY... WOOSH... today I am going to blog about the final episode. Yes, I passed my driving test with 14 points. :D
Hmm.. I reached the driving centre at 12.50pm. My instructor came at 1pm and I walked to his car. I immediately smiled when I saw his car..... haha... I feel much more confident when I saw that mini mirror attached to my left wing mirror again... there's hope.
Drove in the circuit and it wasn't very good... I strike kerb when I was doing my parallel parking. :( I wanted to try again but my instructor said that with effect from 1st Nov, students are only allowed to try parking once. So they decreased from trice to once. Then I have no choice but to move on. Erm.. other than that... no major mistakes... tried everything and my instructor was asking me what else have I not done? So I thought for a while and I told him everything is done.. lol.. he suddenly hit my dashboard and I jam brake. haha.. emergency brake is the one left.
Exited circuit and went on to road. Not really that good too.. so eventually my confidence dropped.
Very soon, 2.30pm came and I started to panic. Went up level 2 to hand in my IC,PDL and car insurance. Then went down the waiting room to calm myself down.
The 1st tester came... 2nd....3rd.....the 4th or 5th tester came and he called my name. I walked out and he asked me what is my car plate number... I stumbled..but luckily, I recalled. LOL...
The first impression of my tester was...... oh dear.. so strict. He asked me to walk to my car so as usual, I start the engine and wait for him to put the L plate so that my car will have 2 L plates at the front and back each.He sat beside me and asked me 'when I slam the dashboard, what does it mean'? So I said 'emergency brake, Sir'. Then he asked me to enter the circuit and so I did.
Suddenly, a phone rang and it wasn't my phone. So I ignored it. Hmm... first thing I did was directional change. Did it very smoothly while confirming safety. Drove out and yet the phone is still ringing. My tester got irritated by it so he asked me 'what's that sound? Your phone ringing ah'? So I said 'No Sir,not my phone'. He looked down and he saw a handphone... oh no.. that's my instructor's phone. I was afraid that he will be pissed because it kept ringing. So I apologised to him. Next we went on to do vertical parking. It wasn't that smooth... I turned too late so I have to drive forward in order to enter into the lot. I realise something funny.... when I look at my left, my tester will look at my right. When I look at my right, he will look at my left. So I wondered did I check the wrong blind spot? After that we went on to S course. Next is the slope.... then parallel parking....
wa... sian... I kena the 3 small lots for parallel parking.. so I was disappointed because the lot is really super small compared to the 5 lots one. I checked safety, parked in and everything is good.. phew.. I turned my steering wheel while stationary because I was scared that my wheel will hit the kerb. After that, we went to do crank course. Thanks to my mini mirror, I passed this section too. Then he said turn left to do the vertical parking... I did what he said because my mind was blank.. all I know is I have to listen to what he say. So while parking halfway, he suddenly called me to stop. I wonder what happened... did I do something wrong? He suddenly asked me 'we did this already right? why you never tell me'? I thought for 5 secs...OH YA.... I did vertical parking just now already... why are we doing this twice? So he asked me to go forward.
I stopped at the stop line and he asked me to turn right. I didn't know what am I doing.... I was about to turn right where I saw 2 cars in front of me... blocking my way... so I am stuck... I am causing obstruction to the on coming cars. I wanted to reverse but my tester called me not to reverse... behind got car.. wa siao liao... how? My front got car blocking me....my back got car blocking me... even my right also got car coming in. sian.. I worried that I will get demerit points for this. After a few seconds, the 2 cars moved off.. they saved my life.. :D
While happily driving to exit the circuit, he slammed my dashboard so I immediately jammed my brake. But for some reason, I let go of my brake when my car stopped. He asked me to move off and I forgot to signal. Oops...
Exited circuit... everything was alright... sian.. I kena Ubi ave 1 again.. The place where I dislike.
Very soon, I drove back to the centre and went up with him to print my result. He asked me to sit outside and I waited.... zzz... I waited for 3 mins and he still haven't come out yet.. I seriously panic and pray there.... what's wrong? what happened? Waited another 2 mins and he called my name. I went in the room... sat down and he explained to me my mistakes. I looked at the paper.. the first word I saw was 'Congratulations'. So I felt so relieve... I passed... finally, at my 2nd attempt. I listened closely to what he was saying.. he said I shouldn't have let go of my brake during my emergency brake. Then he said that my engine was damn loud at Ubi ave 1. I should have changed up to gear 3. Then he said that when I change lane, I should change lane diagonally... not horizontally. Then I know... shit.. I changed lane abruptly.
He gave me my result slip and he said ok...passed.. go watch the safety video at 4pm. :D :D :D
I have never felt so happy in my life like this before. Nothing can describe the feeling you get when you pass your test. I took a queue number to apply for my driving license. While I was paying $50 to make my license. I saw someone very special... someone who I vowed to take revenge on. Seek Thian Lye.... he stood right in front of me. I looked at him and he looked back at me. I smiled at him..... EAT THAT, I PASSED. haha... I feel so happy after I proved that he failed me wrongly on my 1st attempt.
Received my paper license and they will registered mail me my card license within 1 month.
My result:
Mistakes made....
1) Incorrect technique for emergency stop(circuit) - 2 points.
2) Fail to check mirror before moving off(circuit) - 2 points.
3) Incorrect positioning(exit gate of circuit) - 0 points because of free count.
4) Fail to look out for traffic/pedestrian at side road(Ubi ave 1) - 2 points.
5) Fail to use appropriate gear(Ubi ave 1) - 2 points.
6) Change lane abruptly(Ubi ave 2) - 4 points.
7) Incorrect braking/jerky/suddenly/late/very late(traffic light junction of Ubi rd 3 and Ubi ave 3) - 2 points.
Total number of demerit points: 14
Total number of immediate failure: 0
Result: Passed.
Tester: Ng Seh Hock.
He is a good tester. He will repeat his instruction so that you won't forget where to go. Didn't kena U-turn today... 1st and 2nd mistake is because of emergency brake.... I let go of brake and I moved off without checking and signaling. 3rd mistake I don't know what is it... but it's free count anyway... 4th mistake I actually got look out for car at side road.. but I just don't bother to slow down because he should give way to me. 5th mistake is because I refuse to change up to gear 3. lol... 6th mistake erm... ya... that's my habit and I know it's super dangerous. I always love to change lane horizontally like those taxi drivers. 7th mistake got 2 possible answers which I forgot which one is it... the 1st one is that I was speeding at 50km/h using gear 4. Then suddenly the traffic light turn amber then I jammed brake as hard as I can. Managed to stop in time.
The 2nd one is where I was driving straight where one car suddenly cut into my lane. I wanted to honk him but I decided not to..
I am officially a certified class 3 driver. :D WOOSH!
congratulations. i went to google the tester name and got to your page.
