I have been making quite a number of Korean friends recently... haha.... I was told about the insane education system in Korea...
High school students in Korea have to attend lessons from 7.30am to 11pm. WOW....that's totally insane man.... that's like 15.5 hours.
1 day = 24 hours. This means that high school students spend 64.6% of their time in school... it's freaking tiring... Geez.... the horrible thing is that it's compulsory for high school students to go to school at 7.30am and the earliest time their lesson end is 8pm. They are not allowed to leave the school within 7.30am to 8pm. It's like a prison and they have to eat during their lunch and dinner time in school as well...
I really pity them now... I can fully understand why is kyo so busy last time...
On the other hand, college students in Korea are far better than college students in Singapore. Korea's college students are allowed to choose their own timing to attend lesson. This means that they have the freedom to choose morning or afternoon. That's pretty flexible....

27/8 3rd driving lesson
I woke up at 11am and it was raining heavily.... I prayed hard as today is my driving lesson... I don't want it to rain as raining will force drivers to slow down and at the same time, it takes us longer time to brake.
Fortunately, the rain did stop when it's 3pm.
My driving lesson today was freaking awesome.. haha... I really enjoyed it... my engine no longer stall as I know when to depress my clutch when I stop now.... but erm... I still fail to stop at the stop line. I tend to stop quite far away from the stop line and I need to correct my mistake.
I drove from Ubi to some places near Tampines and I went up a highway with no traffic light and no pedestrian crossing at all.I drove at 70km/h and it's so fun.. haha... listening to the sound of the engine while looking for oncoming cars.
Today is an important lesson. I was taught how to change lane, overtake and U-turn.
Oh and erm... I have been practicing on the angles to turn left and right.
I realise that turning left and right can be challenging especially when the traffic light turns from red to green and you depress your gas, release your clutch halfway and you can feel that your engine is vibrating. You really have to maintain your half clutch position while you turn.... unless you depress your gas so much that it's sufficient for you to release your clutch fully.
I drove to a public car park with very little cars but parked lorries. I learned how to U-turn to the right today and my instructor said that he will teach me how to U-turn to the left during my next lesson. In Singapore, we don't get to U-turn to the left as U-turning is always to the right...
There are several important things to take note when you U-turn. Engage the first gear and your speed should be around 5 to 10km/h. Check your mirror, signal right and you MUST check your blindspot. Lookout for oncoming cars and when it is safe, turn steering wheel 'full lock' to the right. It takes approximately 2 or 3 seconds for me to turn my steering wheel 'full lock'. As you turn, remember to look far ahead.
Hmm... I have been studying my HRM recently but I always get demotivated as my coursework is only a C. So even if I get an A for my HRM in the main exam, I believe my overall grade is only a B which I am considering to give up HRM now..lol... sigh....

23/8 2nd driving lesson
Had my 2nd driving lesson today... Went to sit at the driver's seat and adjusted everything as usual. My instructor called me to move off and I was shocked because I was kinda scared and nervous... so basically I engage the 1st gear, release my handbrake and release to half clutch so that my car will move like a walking man.
My instructor called me to check the mirror if there is any car coming from behind before I move out and indeed, there are lots of cars. I was told to stop my car because I can't possibly move off with so many car coming. So I depress my brake and went to release my clutch fully instead. My engine suddenly vibrate violently and it stalled. LOL... I can't imagine my engine just stalled like that... so I restart my engine and moved off...
Drove straight and learned how to change the gear. From 1st gear to the 2nd to the 3rd. I was concentrating on the road ahead and suddenly, my instructor asked me a question. He asked me is turning left or turning right more easy? At first I thought the answer was turning right because my driver's seat is at the right side and so I can judge my position more easily. Then I changed my mind thinking that both are the same. lol...
Then I found out that the answer is turning left. Which is what I did today... Keep turning left while trying to change gear and get familiar to the road.
My engine stalled a few times because when I want to stop my car, I forgot to press my clutch and I have to restart my engine again. I was happily driving and I realise that there is no car in front and behind me. So I was at gear 2 and I depress my gas so hard that it almost touched the ground... LMAO.... I can feel my accelerator pedal 70% depressed and the engine was making loud sound because I should change up to gear 3 but I didn't because there is a curve in front and I don't want to change up. So my instructor asked me why the hell am I depressing the gas so much? Sigh...
There were a few moments where some car tailgated my car.
Hmm.... booked my practical driving test today. It's on the 1st of November. Kinda too early to book it but I am rushing to get my driving license. I am currently learning 2 lessons per week which should be sufficient for me to learn everything before my test date.

17/8 1st driving lesson
Hmm... had my first driving lesson today. I saw my instructor who is a friend of my mother. He was the instructor of my mother when she was learning how to drive too. Hmm.. he seem to grow old a lot. Kinda shocked when I saw him.
So I sat at the driver's seat and adjusted my seat. Left leg almost straightened when my clutch is fully depress.... wear seat belt and adjust the mirrors. First thing first... I noticed that I can see my blind spots via my rear view mirror, the part which is beside my rear passenger seat. So I guess I don't really have to turn my head and look over my shoulder when I check my blind spots..lol... nah... still have to do that...
Hmm... I am starting to feel the difference between the actual distance of the road and the distance viewed from the driver's seat. So erm... checked that my gear is in Neutral and the handbrake is pulled up. My instructor called me to depress the accelerator pedal so that my tachometer reaches 1500rmp per minute. Well... I was wearing sport shoe which have hard soles and I seriously can't feel the pedal at all. So I depress it very gently and it went up to 1000rmp. I gently depress it further and it went up to 2500rmp with loud noise from the engine... the noise is those that you can hear in movies about racing car... it's like that they depress the accelerator pedal and release it and depress it to create those cool engine sound.
So basically I did that because I couldn't control it at all..lol... I realise that the accelerator pedal is super duper extremely sensitive. Finally my meter reached 1500rmp and my instructor called me to hold it there.... feel the sound of the engine and remember this point. I couldn't really feel the sound but I know I like that sound...LOL....
Then I was told to release the gas fully and depress it to 1500rmp again... so I repeated this step for 2 mins then somehow I manage to feel how much to press now.... but no matter how hard I try, I keep getting around 2000rmp.
So I was told not to look at the meter now and depress the gas till 1500rmp... repeated this step for another 2 mins.
I wonder why must it be 1500rmp and so I asked him. He told me the power to move off is around 1500 to 2000rmp. Anything below it the engine will stall... so I was like oh shit... I didn't know it's so important. LOL....
After that I was taught how to change gear. I depress the clutch fully and started changing gear from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. Gear 5 is what we known as overdrive but learners will never get to use that gear. So I can't learn that. So I changed the gear and he said I changed it too fast... sigh... perhaps I thought I am playing some racing game in arcade... it took me 1 sec to change from gear 1 to gear 2. But he held my hand and took 2 secs to change... I don't really understand why must he change gear so slowly but I understand it now.
Let's see erm.... I went on to turn my steering wheel full lock and notice that his car can only turn 1.75 rounds which means 630 degree. I expected the steering wheel to be hard to turn because my car is not moving and therefore there will be friction between my tyres and the surface of the road but it turn out that the steering wheel is extremely light to turn.
Depress my clutch and went to the 1st gear. Released my clutch halfway which is what they call it the biting point or the half clutch technique. My engine starts to vibrate and if I release just a bit my engine will stall. Which is why the biting point is very important. But then when I reach my biting point, I noticed that my left knee touched the steering wheel. This should not happen but I didn't ask him why.... perhaps the steering wheel is too low for me.
Hmm... in biting point, my car start to move forward like a walking man.... pretty interesting.. in theory, they said that the connecting and disconnecting clutch technique should be used with the gas slightly depress... but in practical, this is false. I can move my car with just half clutch.
So erm.. changed to reverse gear and I was told to reverse with half clutch only. I tried but when I look at the rear windscreen, I can't see the front bonnet of the car behind me.. so I don't have the guts to reverse because I don't know where to stop so that I won't hit the car behind me... I looked at my rear view mirror and I can see the front bonnet of the car behind me... sigh... I don't understand why must we look at the rear windscreen and reverse when the rear view mirror is actually more clearer and more useful... :(
I didn't manage to depress the brake pedal at all today. All I learned was the clutch and gas pedal which I still don't know how much to press to get 1500rmp. Hmm.. the good thing is that my engine didn't stall today.... I believe my engine will stall in the next few lesson.LOL. But I am more likely to be free-wheeling which is dangerous.lol...
Didn't really manage to drive even at 20 km/h today.. sob sob...driving seems easy but it's quite tough when you are the one sitting and driving. Especially when you are just a learner with little experience and your instructor's life is in your hand when you drive.
Hmm... I seem to brag a lot about what I learned today but that's what my instructor called me to do.LOL.. to write a diary about what I did everytime I drive....
Had my schedule planned and I am going to start studying from next monday onwards. My next driving lesson is at next monday too. Oh ya.. Yuwen is taking his TP tomorrow... hope he get his license... heard that Poh ah soon have been sent to CDC to be a test invigilator. SHIT... I hope he fu** off when before I book my test date. He is a irritating, stupid and insane invigilator that everyone knows of. He will fail people no matter how good that person drive. Out of 30 people, only 1 or 2 manage to get a driving license out of him. Idiot... please go away... hope Yuwen don't get him also... if not sure die like hell..lol...

12/8
Woosh... passed my FTT yesterday. It was so much easier than my first FTT at CDC which I failed it last month.. LOL... Hmm... going to start learning practical lesson and buy my PDL to drive.
Sigh... nothing much happened during the holiday... going to start studying only 2 weeks before my exam. I am so bored that I kept pestering my mum to let me learn my practical now but she asked me not to rush.. sigh... I am just too bored at home...
Yuwen is going to take his practical test next week... guess he's gonna pass if he don't make any serious mistake. Heard that he have been mounting kerb too... sian.. good luck to him bah...lol...
