Yew hup took his BTT today at 2pm. So I went to CDC at 1pm today to wait for him. He said his e-trial test was fine. He got 90% for his first set of paper and 96% for his second set of paper. I looked at his handbook and I found out that it's the 8th edition. The book that I used to study is the 7th edition. There are a couple of new stuff added to his book. He went in at 2pm and I waited for him.
I was supposed to have my lesson at 2.30pm but it got postponed to 3pm. So hup came out at the very last minute and he said he passed. :) Not only did he pass. He even scored 100% for it. :D Congrats.
My lesson today feel good and smooth. That's because my instructor repaired his car and I felt like I was driving that Honda civic that I used to drive. I encountered lots of slope today. Kept using my handbrake and lots of clutch controlling to be done.
I drove around the test routes at Ubi. I tried to U-turn twice at the main road today. It's been a long time..... I miss U-turning.... and I know U-turning will definitely be tested.
Hmm... the only mistake that I made today is called 'wide turning'. To clear my rear wheel from the kerb, I turned too late. So that alone will cost me 4 points if I do it on my test.
I am starting to tremble in fear as my test date is approaching nearer and nearer day by day. I believe in myself... I know I can do this... it's not hard actually... but today, while waiting for hup..... I saw many people who failed.
I saw a young girl... a girl who is near my age. She walked up to level 2 with the test examiner and she was asked to sit at a chair while the test examiner went to print her result. He passed the paper to her and she failed. Her instructor came and looked at her paper. wtf... she got 20 points.. that means she just fail. 18 is the passing mark. I feel sad for her.. seriously... why can't the test examiner just close one eye and let her pass?
I understand that mistakes are mistakes... if they don't fail her, she will never change. But sometimes, a mistake may not be a mistake to us. Hmm.. nvm...
I just hope that I pass. I don't want to waste anymore time and money. Please show mercy on me. I swear I will be a good driver once you give me that licence.
I think most people start to fail when they exit the circuit. In the circuit, some common mistakes are striking kerb, failing to check blindspot, failing to confirm safety when approaching pedestrian crossing and turning the steering wheel while stationary.
Outside the circuit, that's the part where they can mark you down for doing things that feels right but it's wrong.
Hmm... let's see... inside the circuit I will turn my steering wheel while stationary for my parallel parking. So without taking the test, I know I will get that 2 points for sure. Let's imagine I am lucky on that day. No striking of kerb at all. So outside the circuit I have got a habit of changing lane abruptly. So I will get 4 points for that. Maybe I didn't confirm safety when I turn so I will get another 4 points.
I have kicked the habit of using inappropriate gear and dragging of gear so I think I won't get points for that...
Let's say I am unlucky... I checked my blindspot but test examiner say I never check... fine.. another 4 points for that... Hmm.. total that would be 14 points.. I still have 4 points to spare.
I pray hard that I will get a fair test examiner on that day... lol.
