ju-on
WARNING! Do not click on the link above if the time now is after 10pm. I am afraid you will have nightmare after seeing that face too. However, if you seriously wanna watch the video and you are not afraid, feel free to watch the video. The face will appear at the 5th minute plus. It's not a sudden pop-out thingy to scare you.
Hmm... I finally found it... I found her... I found her face... I found her bloody face...that scariest face I have ever seen. I remembered after seeing this face, I couldn't sleep at all.. My heart was filled with fear...
Ju-on is a korean word. In English, we call it 'the curse'. There is a movie called the grudge. The story and characters in it are similar to ju-on. Recently there is also a Japanese version of ju-on. But I still prefer the original version. The one that freaked me out.
The story was fantastic. A schoolgirl got killed by a ghost. Her jawbone was missing... but the interesting part is that she manage to survive. She was bleeding badly. Every part of her body was bleeding... she went home after that. She live in those double story house. So when she came back, her mother was busy talking on the phone in the kitchen. She know someone is back but don't know who. So this girl walked slowly up the stairs. Her mother wanted to see who is back but saw blood on the floor... dripping and dripping... she followed that stranger up the stairs and asked her who is she. She turned around and her mum realise that it's her daughter.. but something tell me that this girl ain't her daughter. Because she killed her mother after that.
Well.. ju-on is an interesting movie.. there are 3 parts to it. Ju-on 1, ju-on 2 and ju-on 2 the final.
But hmm.. no matter how scary it is.. no matter how interesting the movie is, it's just a show after all. LOL...haha...
Let's talk about something else. I believe this issue that I am gonna talk about is something serious that the government find it hard to solve the problem too.
Click me
Construction workers from Bangladesh, hotel staff from the Philippines,
waitresses from China, shipyard welders from Myanmar, technology
professionals from India. This sound familiar. Yes, I am talking about foreigners living in Singapore.
I am a Singapore(SG) citizen but I can guarantee that I won't be bias against Singaporean.
Let's start by talking about threat. A threat that Singaporeans are worrying about. A threat that our government must do something to solve it. This threat is what we known as the competition for jobs. I must agree that for the past few years, foreigners who occupy Singaporean's job have increased.
Singapore is a very small country. We are one of the smallest country in the world. With a population of approximately 5 million people, 30% of the population are foreigners. Singaporeans have been complaining that the foreigners are occupying jobs that are supposed to be ours. I have to agree with them.
Basically, the main reason why so many foreigners are coming to Singapore is because of the advantages of working here. Firstly, their salary is high. If you are standing in a Singaporean's point of view, their salary will be low. But if you try to put yourself in their shoe, their salary working here is definitely much more higher than the salary working in their own country. Let's compare SG and China. The exchange rate is 1:5. The currency in China is rmb. So S$1= 5rmb. Let's assume their salary in SG is S$400 per month. This is equivalent to 2,000rmb. Foreigners are humans too. They need money to buy food and contribute to their family too. So we seriously can't blame them for occupying our job as they would definitely choose to work in an environment where there is higher pay.
Secondly, Singapore is a safe country. In terms of safety, I am sure SG is one of the safest country. Let's not talk about terrorism. Let's talk about natural disaster. Unlike Indonesia, SG doesn't have flood. Unlike India, SG doesn't have strong drought. Unlike China, SG doesn't have strong earthquake. When Indonesia is strike by earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0, it does affect SG but come on... the strength of the earthquake is so weak that we only can feel the vibration. Nothing more than that.
Would you choose to work in a place where the salary is low and it's only 50% that you are safe or would you rather choose to work in a place where the salary is high and it's 99% that you are safe? Common sense tell us that everyone will choose the latter. That's it! That's why more and more foreigners in Asia are coming to work in SG.
We must face the fact that we need foreigners to work for us. As I said before, Singapore is just a small country. We need more foreign talents to survive. Without foreign talent, would Singapore win so many medals in the Beijing olympic game? Without Tao Li, would Singapore set world record for swimming?
Let's face the truth.. without them, we won't. The government said this before and we can't blame the government for it. They have tried their best to help SG. Government have been finding ways for us to live a better life too... it's just that when they help us, we say thank you and we forget about it. But when government did something that the citizens dislike, we complain and we will never forget it. The government have budget to spend on various matters such as housing etc. We can't expect the government to help us forever too.
Richard's law: Human must depend on himself to survive.
Singaporeans must also face the fact that sometimes our demand is too high. We expect a sales manager to have a basic pay of S$4,000. Including sales commission, our salary that we expect would be S$5,000 and above. But please look at yourself before you start to demand. Look at your qualifications.. you may have a 'O' level certificate. You may have a diploma.. or a degree. But people out there have PhD. They have master degree with first class honors. They have MBA (A certificate that I wanna have). If companies out there reject a university graduate when he ask for a pay of $4,000 per month, what makes you think that the company will accept you when your qualifications are worse than them?
It's not really experience that they are looking for. They are looking for skills.. they are looking for people with the ability to make profits for the company.
Staff salary is considered an expense to the company. When salary increase, expense will increase and assuming revenue is constant, profit will decrease. All companies in this world wanna make profit. No one is so stupid to wish for a loss.
And don't forget.. those foreigners again... they can accept much more lower pay than us. The company offer them S$1,500 per month and they are willing to accept it. To us, our reaction will be like... WTF? Only S$1,500 per month for a sales manager? NO WAY... I will never take up this kind of job. True... the pay is seriously too low. But because we Singaporeans refuse to take it, it's fair to give the job to foreigners. The company need to survive. If no local people want it, they have to give it to someone else. That's why we can't blame the foreigners or government.
A very good example is the construction workers in SG. Do you see Singaporeans working in the construction industry? No..you don't. Why? Everywhere you go, you will only see the Indians and China guys working as construction workers. These are jobs that Singaporeans refuse to take up. So who can we blame?
We should blame our self.
Our market is very small... so small that no businessman in SG can survive. That's why businessman in SG are migrating or doing business overseas. Recently I saw a report saying companies in New Zealand are finding Singaporeans as workers. Cool... the western people are inviting Asians to work there.
But what happen if a report 5 years later shows that the Asians are occupying too many jobs in the western country? LOL... Just joking...
Hmm.. I am not a storyteller. I am not a debater. I am just a student with no power. I always believe that if you wanna survive in this world, you got to make changes. What kind of change??? It depend. If you are a company selling products.. you can change the product by thinking of innovative or creative ways. You have to beat your competitors before they beat you. Be like President Obama. Be positive. Never say die.
We Singaporeans will never die because of too many foreigners but we will die if we still continue to demand like before. It's time to make changes. It's time to step out of this world and proof to others that you are not useless. It's time to show others what you are made of and tell them that they have underestimated you. It's time to change your fear into your strength. It's time to make use of your strength and opportunity to be successful. It's time to get rid of your weaknesses and threats by saying 'YES, we can'. It's time for you to get up and fight for your own future. IT'S TIME.... for you to change your life.
