Went to Parkway today. Ate steamboat there. After that went to shop around but didn't really buy anything. Bought ice-cream. Ate KFC at 11pm.

This sound boring huh.... LOL

Me and my family went to eat KFC at 10.45PM. They were closing but luckily, we are the last customer. After eating, we took bus home and on the way home, my auntie and my sister were discussing about the legal age to smoke and drink in Singapore. They feel that the legal age of 18 is too young. Teenagers are smoking at the age of 13 to 16 and everyone know that smoking is bad for health.
My auntie think that the legal age should be 21. Well.... I find that 21 is reasonable. People who are 21 are considered an adult and they are said to be more matured. Japan legal age for drinking is 20 and Korea legal age is 19(western age)/ 20(Korean age)

As I said before in my previous blog post, Korea have a weird age system. For example, Koreans born in the year 1991 should be 19 years old now after his birthday but according to this system, you have to add one year old to their current age. That means this Korean man is 20 years old in Korea now. Therefore, to us their legal age is 19 but to Koreans, their legal age is 20.
India's legal age is 25 and that's very high. Most countries are 18 to 21.

Anyway, today I heard a song. It's sorry sorry by super junior. After that, I heard some songs by SNSD(소녀시대) which is known as Girls' Generation. A few days ago, all these Korean bands caught my attention. I know I am slow... but I realise that all these bands consists of single gender only. Super junior consist of all boys. Girls' generation consist of all girls. Wonder girls consist of all girls too.... Brown eyed girls consist of all girls too. Why isn't there any mixed gender band?

I asked Lovely why and she said it's natural. Since young, Koreans are sent to single sex school from kindergarten to secondary school. Only some school have mixed gender. Most school in Korea are still single sex school. It's only recent that the government decided to create some mixed gender school. That's why blind dating still exist in Korea.
Hmm.. I was a little shocked when I heard this. I didn't know Lovely is in a single sex school.
So she went on to say that they make friends of opposite sex by non-school activities such as dance school, pub, private English classes etc....
Korean girls tend to be more ambitious than the guys. The girls want power and the guys are afraid of the girls. LOL... this sound funny.
Another reason why Korean bands are single gender is that the girls want to show the guys that they can dance better. On the other hand, the guys want to show that they can dance and perform better.
But in the future, mixed gender band will start to be formed.

Sigh... how I wish I am in Seoul now.

열심히 공부하다, Lovely. 내가 사랑하고 당신이 그리워.
